A No.1 album, two consecutive No.1 singles, a headline UK tour, 9 UK arena dates in 2012 confirmed, a European tour and a certified silver sophomore album, this has been Example’s year.
Following the No.1 success of monster hits ‘Changed The Way You Kiss Me’ and ‘Stay Awake’, Example releases new single ‘Midnight Run’ on 4th December. Produced by dubstep maestro Feed Me, ‘Midnight Run’ is a tale of late nights in dark places, battling demons, Example style.
It has been quite a year for Example who kick-started 2011 featuring on the Wretch 32 No.2 smash ‘Unorthodox’. He also bagged one of the biggest hype tracks of 2011 with the demon Skream collaboration ‘Shot Yourself in the Foot Again’ which received over 3.5 million YouTube views, climbed to #1 on HypeMachine and became a viral hit across the world.
‘Midnight Run’ follows a succession of hits from the new album – the first single ‘Changed The Way You Kiss Me’ held the No.1 position in the UK charts for 2 weeks beating rock giants Coldplay to the top selling over 400K copies, now certified gold and ranked as one of the biggest selling singles of the year.
Following huge festival performances this summer at V2011, Wireless, Glastonbury, Big Chill, Lovebox, Creamfields and an iTunes headline, the beast that is Example LIVE has reached new levels. As well his third UK headline tour – 17 dates this side of Christmas all of which are sold out, Example has announced UK Arena dates for 2012. In all Example will be taking his monster set to 9 ARENAS around the country bringing his dirty rave beats to life, guaranteed to make you bounce all concert long.
Fans will also be able to catch Example in the more intimate setting of the Jo Whiley’s Little Noise Sessions next month alongside Elbow, Goldfrapp and Sinead O’Connor, with more exciting announcements to come.
‘Midnight Run’ is released through Ministry of Sound on 4th December and is taken from the album ‘Playing In The Shadows’ out now.
