Buy Konnet Power Pyramid

Keeping all your wires and cables in check is easy to take for granted, and can leave you with those frusturating moments fighting with and trying to tidy up those annoying knots and tangles.

And I’m also guilty of being a bit lazy or forgetful as I rarely remember to put my controllers on charge after a gaming session, only to fire up my console later and get that annoying message letting me know the juice is about to run out.

So the Power Pyramid Supreme is a neat little docking station set to kill those two birds with one stone.

You can pick up the Power Pyramid Supreme (bloody hell, that’s a lot of P’s) in three different versions to suit your needs; an Xbox only version, one for the PS3 or one that fits a combination of controllers for both consoles. We got our hands on the Power Pyramid Supreme limited edition model, which fits both Xbox360 and PS3 controllers.

The first thing to note about the Power Pyramid Supreme is that it’s one of the more stylish charging stations out there, with a sleek and stylish matte finish and art deco vibe. Without any controllers plugged in, the translucent and plastic port caps four ports sticking out of each side to hold the controllers don’t really do it’s sexy and shiny look any favours… but it looks great with them plugged in and put on charge.

Two PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers can be put on charge at once, which is pretty great as it removes the pain from having to fiddle about withseperate chargers and completely solves the problem of only being able to charge your PS3 controllers when the console is on.

The Power Pyramid Pro also has LEDs installed in all of its ports to indicate how far along the charging has come; red for charging and blue when they’re all ready to go.

How long does that take?

PS3 controllers definitely win the race as they’re all souped up and ready to go within 3 hours. Xbox 360 controllers take double the amount of time and are fully charged around the 6 hour mark… which isn’t TOO bad considering you’re able to charge two at a time.

So at around £39.99, is it worth parting with your cash for the Power Pyramid Supreme?

You might want to consider some of its flaws, including that nice, metallic presentation that is upon further inspection a bit of a smoke andmirrors affair. The unit itself feels quite cheap and plasticky and its shiny surfaces LOVE to pick up fingerprints all over. This might not be an issue for anyone except the really OCD and superficial folk, but it does let down the overall look of the robust gadget it makes itself out to be.

The controller ports have some thoughtful little strips of black rubber to avoid controller being scratched, but they never feel REALLY secure in their place as the plastic cups holding the controllers in place are wobbly and feel flimsy. They’re not going to pop off and and fly across the room, but it’s still enough to question how well built the design is.

The LED lights give a clear indication of the charge status and look great at first, but if you’re thinking about having this set up in your bedroom, keep in mind that the Power Pyramid Supreme is like a kid’s nightlight on steroids. If four controller are on charge, that’s FIVE blue/red LEDs on the pyramids lit up as you try to get some sleep.

There’s no denying that getting to grips with the Power Pyramid Supreme shows that it’s got a few design flaws, but at the same time it isn’t an accessory made to be manhandled and its aesthetics make up for it.

It’s a charging station at the end of the day, made to sit there next to your consoles and TV… and when it’s got those controllers plugged in and all lit up, there’s no getting away from the fact it looks pretty damn good. At £39.99 it’s not a bad one at all, purely because of its convenience. It cuts out the need for buying several chargers which can easily add up to well over the Power Pyramid Supreme’s £39.99.

So to sum up…

If you’re looking to get your game space a bit more organised and flashy looking whilst charging up your controllers at the same time, the Power Pyramid Supreme is definitely a charging station you’ll want to be checking out.
